IUG‐based beam selection for wideband millimetre wave massive MIMO systems

Beam selection aims to select beams with large power and little inter-user interference (IUI). In wireless communication scenarios, the levels of IUI are usually different, but, most existing beam methods apply same criteria for all users, which is detrimental maintain an attractive trade-off between computational complexity system performance. Considering discrepancy comprehensively, this paper proposes a method based on interfering user grouping (IUG) wideband millimetre-wave massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. Firstly, candidate set (CBS) constructed in light sparsity distribution beamspace channel. Based CBS, users classified into non-interfering (NIUs), low-interference (LIUs) high-interference (HIUs). For NIUs, selected from CBS under magnitude maximization (MM) criterion; LIUs, novel MM criterion tabu list designed, can effectively tackle drawback assigning shared traditional MM; HIUs, incremental algorithm sum-rate developed find optimal CBS. Simulation results validate that proposed IUG-based obtain good performance lower compared methods.
